An exciting opportunity is available for experienced, enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated Physical Activity Specialists with a passion and keen interest in weight management. This role will contribute to the development, provision and coordination of the Adult Weight Management and Physical Activity Services in Southend-On-Sea. These community-based, multi component services offer a personalised care package for adults, with a focus on those overweight or obese, and those who are at high risk of obesity and or inactivity. This service is delivered by an expert multi-disciplinary team, providing advice on healthy eating and physical activity.
Playing a pivotal role within this service, you will be responsible for providing high quality, physical activity advice and support, including NICE Compliant Weight Management group delivery working within a multi-disciplinary specialist weight management team. You will provide expert physical activity advice, underpinned by a sound knowledge of theoretical principles of behaviour change, to support adults in Southend-On-Sea to make informed decisions in relation to their weight and or activity levels.
The key functions of the role are:
- Providing high quality physical activity advice and exercise prescription within a community-based, weight management service.
- Delivering one to one and group interventions for adults who are overweight or obese, with potential co-morbidities / complex needs.
- Delivering one to one and group interventions for inactive adults.
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
