Part-time role – 30 hours per week
Fixed Term 12-month contract
Do you want to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of local communities? If so, we are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, well organised engagement officer to be part of our Cambridgeshire and Peterborough integrated healthy lifestyle service. You will be responsible to driving uptake of our local diabetes programmes DESMOND and National Diabetes Prevention Programme NDPP amongst specific communities and people.
You will empower the community to access these services by making and maintaining strong community links with organisations, groups and health professions. If you are an excellent communicator, who is enthusiastic, motivated and looking to make a difference to local communities, then this is the role for you.
The key functions of the role are:
- Engage local services and partners to ensure local awareness and explore partnership opportunities and co-production activities
- Develop and deliver actions plans for targeted engagement with Primary Care Networks and for the engagement of stakeholders, partners and community leaders to raise awareness of services
- Specifically increase uptake to services from the South Asian (Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani), deprived communities and other disadvantaged groups
- Run pop up stands at community events, wellbeing fairs, local festivals and support the delivery of diabetes related campaigns to raise awareness of the service
We would like to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Have experience of community outreach and engagement work
- Are flexible with good time management and planning skills.
- Have experience in building strong links and relationships with a diverse range of groups, organisations and agencies.
- Can talk confidently to diverse groups and individuals, maintaining key messages
